Filthy Children        http://www.filthychildren.com
Every so often a band comes along with a sound so different, so genre defying, and thought provoking, that it wholly evades definitionů. However, until a band of that magnitude does rear its magnificent head, there are bands like the funk/jazz/rock octet Filthy Children. Oh yes, Filthy Children.

Delivering the nutritious grooves that should always be part of a funky breakfast, Filthy Children deliver action-packed funk that's sure to move your booty.

Reminiscent of such groove giants as Soulive, Greyboy Allstars, John Scofield, and Deep Banana Blackout, the young Denver-based band is comprised of female vocalist Micah Guy (Fabulous Boogienauts, Jaynx), alto and baritone saxophonist Matt White (Buckner Funken Jazz, Justin Case Blues Band, Funky Babylonians, O-Tone Brass Band), trombonist Jon Braddy (Sammy Mayfield Blues Review, River, Funky Babylonians, O-Tone Brass Band), trumpeter Steve Illich (Sammy Mayfield Blues Review, River, Funky Babylonians, Underdog 5), tenor saxophonist Tobey Hopper (Sammy Mayfield Blues Review, River) drummer Kevin Dykstra (O-Tone Brass Band), guitarist Bryant Walker (Funky Babylonians), and bassist Alan Burki (Zeut, Jessica Goodkin Conspiracy, East Colfax Allstars).

Filthy Children first hit the stage in November 2003 and have been laying it down all over town at events and venues like the Lodo Music Festival, Capitol Hill People's Fair, Kremmling Fourth of July Celebration, and The Soiled Dove, Herman's Hideaway, Blue Mule, Herb's Hideout, 1515 Market, and Cervante's Masterpiece Ballroom.

Fate has brought this group of filthy, misfit all-stars together, and their large and quickly growing fan-base are a testament to their grand performances and appeal.
